Wonderful questions!I have only competed locally one time at Emerald City. Some one asked me last minute and I said "What the hey"! Alot of people who competed did it for the money. Others like to be in the spot light and others for validation. Competing scared the crap out of me. I was fine until my partner and I were the only ones standing in the room. But it was fun. I would do it again but with preparation. My passion for the dance drives me because I have a huge stage fright. I didn't win. LOL I was fine. I took the positive critism and will do better next time. Is it for fun or serious? It really depends on your goals and how competitve you are by nature. I enjoy friendly competition for motivational purposes. Maybe later I'll get into some serious competition. Shout Out to the May 17th graduating class. YOU KNOW!!!! HUGS and Much LOVE!!! |

I don't and probably wont ever compete . i feel if you love the dance and do your best at it , everyone is a winner . I'd rather go to showcases then competitions .I know different people compete for different reasons and big ups to them all . I just love to dance and swing period . |
