I have been in the Dallas area for 9 years and have really enjoyed the swing dance family. My job has transferred me to Jacksonville, FL and I'm having a hard time finding swing out event/classes. Can someone send information to me for the Jacksonville FL. area? It seems as if it is no existence here. Thank You in Advance..

In my opinion and mine alone. I believe a lot of swing dancers quit dancing ,because of other people attitudes and the way we treat people. I think that we forget why we started dancing, I know that I started dancing because I love to dance, and I love seeing people have a great time dancing. I love to meet different and interesting people. I started swing dancing 8 yrs.
ago, and last year I took a break, cause I began to see how this
dance change people. We have people that think that they are better than the next person, people egos. We all do the same thing no one is better than the next, from websites, instructors
and promoters, we all do the same thing promote the dance.
One thing that I would like for us to remember that it is not about you and its not about me. It's About the Dance and coming together to have a great time and fellowship with one
another. It saddens me when people hurt people and think that it is okay. We say we are godly and we do whats
right, but. God do not like ugly. So do not blame god for you doing what you do. Treating someone badly is not what god told you to do, its doing what you wanted to do. Hope no one
takes this personally , but this is just my opinion.

Majority of the classes charge $5 per person for class. Everybody is different.

Maybe I should be an instructor naw just kidding .. I think i may choose Big Smooth also do to the fact we all an learn from him & I go to his class to make every one laugh, yea I know im silly. Its really cool to me to see all the teachers out there trying to make it happen so let me add this poem to the equation.. Can we all see that life is more than what we think or what we may feel. I see in you what i see in all of us an heart. Wether your heart be on its way up or down I see. Do you stop & try to understand the next person? I mean really understand the next person going out your way knowing they don't care. I see in you like god see in me but how? Is it that I feed my soul with fruits of love ,joy , pain , suffering , kindness, goodness, and.... Faith... I see something in you all the time ..do U? I wish that just for a moment, you could see yourself the way that others see you. If you could, you'd know that you're a beautiful person, loving, warm, intelligent, and capable. Instead of comparing yourself to others, I wish that you could see yourself according to your own heart and soul, and be happy about who you are and take pride
in the many wonderful things you can do and not be so hard on yourself. If you could look in the mirror and see yourself

I think it is unethical when a instructor is listed to host a class, you go and they don't show up. Could there be some kind of posting, notice, notification or something so people won't wast their gas going to a class and waiting on a no-show.

I do understand your reasoning thats why I myself stick to the biggest floor in town and that Smooths Class in arlington I live in dallas so but I dont have to worrie about no shows .. check out this web page its may be for you www.mrdoitall.biz

Can someone answer some questions for me? Why are there 45 swingout instructors in the DFW area? Is it me or is that just too many people TRYING to TEACH this dance. My next question is: Why do people feel the need to teach a class when they just graduated from a class? My next question: Does anyone know what true SWINGOUT IS?

I think a lot people try to teach because they want the attention. It's not just for the love of the dance. And that same thing applies to people who have just graduated from class. They love the attention. All attention is not good attention. If your motives for doing things are wrong then its not going to pan out anyway.

As for me, I have been swing dancing for 6 years this October, and I learned from D-Xtra and James King at Crystal's. I've also been doing West Coast for about 9 months now, and I learned from my fabulous partner, Dominique. Prior to that, I danced as a student and a professional in different genres for about 20 years. I love to go everywhere, but mostly these days I go to First Fridays and Second Saturdays at the AEC. I also love to travel around dancing and have had some great times in Austin Killen and OKC." Thanks for thre shout out! See you on the dance floor.

Since I started swing dancing in October 2007 men i have dated find a problem with me going to swing dance events. It really doesnt seem to matter whether they swing dance or not. It's always the same thing. Does attending swing dance events really put a strain on romatic relationships? Why or Why not?
Is anyone having the same problem?

Thanks for the reply Denise. I agree that the guy should feel like he is number 1. I just found the time to view some of the pictures on swingsation and it is nice to see couples who are secure with their relationship. Its a beautiful thing. Big ups to those who can get it together.
