Why Swing Dancers Quit Dancing

In my opinion and mine alone. I believe a lot of swing dancers quit dancing ,because of other people attitudes and the way we treat people. I think that we forget why we started dancing, I know that I started dancing because I love to dance, and I love seeing people have a great time dancing. I love to meet different and interesting people. I started swing dancing 8 yrs.
ago, and last year I took a break, cause I began to see how this
dance change people. We have people that think that they are better than the next person, people egos. We all do the same thing no one is better than the next, from websites, instructors
and promoters, we all do the same thing promote the dance.
One thing that I would like for us to remember that it is not about you and its not about me. It's About the Dance and coming together to have a great time and fellowship with one
another. It saddens me when people hurt people and think that it is okay. We say we are godly and we do whats
right, but. God do not like ugly. So do not blame god for you doing what you do. Treating someone badly is not what god told you to do, its doing what you wanted to do. Hope no one
takes this personally , but this is just my opinion.

I feel you. I have been a swing since 2000, and in 2009 I finally quit. It was exactly because of what you stated. Too many people tore each other apart and you couldn't stay out of it if you tried. If you remained neutral you get attacked. For some reason I was a victim of gossip as well. So I quit dancing all together. Until six months ago I started learning latin and ballroom. I am hoping for the better in this area, but I am forever jaded by what I have seen and been trhough. Do you find this valuable?

"Yes, I want to know how the latin and ballroom dancing goes as well."
I would like to learn how to swing dance and I would like to find a class in Garland. I would also like to learn other forms of dance as well. If anyone can share that information with me I would greatly appreciate it.
